Dear Dr. Bone, I am in a quandary. Everything I read says that you should eat multiple servings of fruits and vegetables every day to prevent cancer. Then you read that the pesticides that are used to grow the fruits and vegetables cause cancer. I decided to go all organic but it is too expensive. What gives? Confused West Palm Beach

Dear Dr. Bone, I drink a lot of water everyday and got nervous when I was sent a message on-line that drinking water out of plastic disposable bottles, especially if they are hot after being left in the car, poses a risk for developing breast cancer. I even read that Sheryl Crowe thinks this might be why she got breast cancer. Is there any truth to this? Heavy on H20 Delray Beach

Dear Dr. Bone, I am almost addicted to iced tea. I drink at least 6 glasses a day. Here is my problem. I used to put sugar into my tea until my doctor told me that I have “borderline” diabetes. I went to the grocery store and found Equal, Splenda, and Sweet’N Low in the sweetener section. I read up on them and they all seem to cause cancer. Is this true? Dear Dr. Bone, I was treated for breast cancer a few years ago and recently had a PET scan to be sure it had not metastasized. I just wanted to check to be sure that the implants they put in for reconstruction wouldn’t interfere with the test results. Can cancer hide behind the implants? NM Hobe Sound

Dear Dr. Bone, Recently, I was diagnosed with cancer and have started chemotherapy. My doctor told me to be careful in public, especially around people with coughs and colds. I am an avid bridge player. I am worried about playing because it seems as though there is always someone who is just getting over the flu or feeling a little “under the weather”. Is it safe for me to play? I was really looking forward to having that time with my friends as a distraction from my cancer and hate to give it up. H.P. Lake Worth

Hot Tubs Dear Dr. Bone, I have been in treatment for lung cancer. My muscles ache from all the medicines. I think about going in my hot tub for relief but am afraid I might catch something. Is it true that you can get sick from a hot tub? Achy All Over Lantana
