Oncology Seminar

Posted by Dr. Melanie Bone in Untagged

The American Society of Clinical Oncologist Show was a fabulous success! It was a three day show where I had the opportunity to meet with medical professionals on a one on one basis. Our exhibit was like a flower to a bumble bee and boy were we busy. Everyone that stopped by agreed that it is time for a Foundation such as ours that represents all cancers and that our site can be used as a helpful resource for the recently diagnosed.

Mel's May Blog

Posted by Dr. Melanie Bone in Untagged

It has been a busy first week of May and I can see it will continue! Eric and I went to Manhattan for a four day weekend and the shows were great, the weather was fabulous, and the walks were east to west, north and south adding up to more than 300 blocks in three and a half days. We are now back home and are preparing for the ASCO show (American Society Of Clinical Oncology) in Chicago June 5-7.

Thank you for visiting my site! As a practicing doctor, surgeon and mother of four there is just so much I can do in a day. Any extra time I have I use to update, add stories, articles and questions to continually better what Cancer Sensibility has to offer. I am not surprised if you or some one you know has been touched by cancer. Using my site gives everyone the chance to take advantage to interact with me through the site.

March Has Arrived!

Posted by Dr. Melanie Bone in Untagged

Wow! March has arrived and I’ve been busy with my practice, column, lectures, and making this site a place to get questions answered and receive your feed back! You have a great opportunity to be heard so go for it! This week I will be offering several new features such as “Your Mind Your Body” which will offer interesting writings by Minx an experienced Life Coach and Linda a motivational cancer fitness expert. “Hot off Melanie’s Press” will offer my latest columns so you do not have to go through the ones you have already read to find my most recent. “Guest Contributors” will have professionals offering answers to your questions about health insurance, finances and employment issues due to a cancer diagnoses. In order to keep Cancer Sensibility able to continue helping you, your friends and family with this site, my national lectures and assisting those who require relief of side effects. I will launch an auction with amazing one of a kind items in the “Place Your Bid” section. Our not-for-profit 501c3 foundation needs your financial support so please help me help you make a difference!

January is gone and February is in with our new name!

Posted by Dr. Melanie Bone in Untagged

For those who are first time visitors to our site as well as those who visit regularly, I have changed the name to Cancer Sensibility Foundation. Why? I feel that my site is evolving more toward concerns about how we act around recently diagnosed friends, family, or co-workers. Our Foundation would like to get the word out that it is fine to act in a more natural way when talking, visiting or emailing someone diagnosed with a cancer. Remember, cancer just like diabetes and heart disease can be controlled as well as take lives. By offering them help in preparing a meal, shopping at the store for groceries, driving them to the doctor or picking up meds as an organized group or an individual you are there for them in a positive way. Fear, sympathy, and tears are not what they need. They need your strength to help get through this and on with their lives! That to me is called Cancer Sensibility!

My First Blog!

Posted by Dr. Melanie Bone in Untagged

Back when I was delivering babies there was no feeling as intense and joyful as the moment I placed a new baby into its mother's arms. Today I feel extra great. Why? Because I am the mother who was "pregnant" with this website for many more than nine months AND I am the mother into whose arms the finished product, my baby, was placed.. And so, like all proud new mothers, I ask, isn't my baby beautiful? I know it was conceived in love and nurtured by many. My only hope is that it will continue to grow in health. Thank you all for supporting me. And by the way, the best baby gift is telling others about our site. When you spread the word, cancer patients, their families and friends (i.e. everyone on the planet) benefit.
Let's put cancer in its place!
